COURSE DESCRIPTION 
The two (2) hour General Guard Unarmed Renewal Training Segment is designed for unarmed Security Guard/Officer classification renewal. This segment examines the use of force continuum and basic de-escalation techniques as well as the legal powers and limitations of a security guard/officer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE
The objective of this course is to train individuals to renew an unarmed security license in the State of Tennessee. This course is fully approved by the State of Tennessee Private Protective Services and satisfies all requirements to renew an Unarmed Security License in the State of Tennessee.

COURSE TOPICS
This segment examines the use of force continuum and basic de-escalation techniques as well as the legal powers and limitations of a security guard/officer.

COURSE GOALS
Comprehend the goals of the use of force continuum and basic de-escalation techniques. 

Comprehend the Tennessee Laws (state statutes) governing Private Protective Services that administer armed and unarmed security personnel.

Comprehend the purpose of Tennessee Private Protective Services Licensing and Regulatory Act and Administrative Rules - Rule 0780-05-02.

Comprehend the Tennessee Laws (state statutes) for criminal and civil laws and liabilities in reference to Title 39 (Criminal Offenses) & Title 40 (Criminal Procedure) and their importance to security personnel.

COURSE DURATION
The entire course, including progress quizzes, and the 50-question final exam, is designed to be completed in 2.5 - 3 hours.

COURSE COMPLETION
The mandatory completion/duration period for this course is 30 days from the registration date. After 30 days, access will be removed. Participants will have three attempts to pass the final examination.

COURSE ATTENDANCE
To meet attendance requirements, participants must entirely review each training module and complete all required course quizzes and the course final examination. Students must view each video without manipulation, fast-forwarding, or skipping forward. Students must successfully review each video module and complete the related progress quiz with a score of < 70% in order to proceed to the next training module.

Angel has more than 30 years of combined experience in military, corporate security and facility management operations. Angel started his career in the United States Army as an Infantryman. He served in the the Gulf War with the 101st Airborne Division in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star. A member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS),he holds the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation, recognized internationally as the top professional certification for security practitioners. Angel is also certified as a Facility Management Professional, Physical Security Professional, Certified Protection Officer, FEMA certified in Emergency Management, Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED instructor, and a Tennessee licensed security officer trainer. Angel currently serves on the Private Protective Services Committee with the Department of Commerce and was the primary author of the (4) Hour General Training Curriculum.
